GDA staff present at the ASMIRT Rural Weekend

On 20 – 21 October Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASIRT) hosted a 2-day event at the picturesque Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, Dunsborough for regional based radiographers to attend from across Western Australia.

This year, Global Diagnostics Medical Imaging Technologist staff presented on the following topics;

  • CT pulmonary angiography and Nuclear Medicine ventilation/perfusion scans for the investigation of suspected pulmonary embolism, Shannon McCallum, Medical Imaging Technician along with Patrick Thompson, Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • 3D pre-operative planning and intraoperative guide production for shoulder replacements using non-contiguous axial thin slice soft tissue CT data, Chris Love, Regional Services Manager for Busselton.
  • Imaging at the Commonwealth Games, Victoria Bailey, MRI Services Manager.

Well done also to Sharron McCallum for assisting the organising committee to ensure the events success. To all the presenters, congratulations on your presentations, great job all round.

The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASIRT) is the peak body representing medical radiation practitioners living and working in regional Western Australia.
